October 1993. Burundi, a small country in east Africa next to Rwanda. The first democratically-elected Hutu President of Burundi is assassinated sparking a new phase of the bloody ethnic conflict between the Hutu majority and the Tutsi minority. An estimated 300,000 people are killed by the warring factions. A few individuals, both Hutu and Tutsi, risk their own lives to save members of the other ethnic group.
